ICFO supports international PhD/habilitation and awarding procedures in formal ontology.

If you are preparing a doctoral or habilitation thesis in formal ontology, have original research ideas and a good body of academic work and are looking for an advisor who could become your mentor and support you, then the ICFO mentoring program is for you. In this program we will help you make contact with prominent formal ontologists who provide advice and support in research work to candidates.

What do we require from a successful candidate?

  1. Original formal ontology research ideas, boldness in proposing theses and the right skills to analyze problems independently (derivative works will not be supported).
  2. Very good knowledge of English (both spoken and written).
  3. Educational background in exact sciences would be an additional asset.

ICFO does not have the capability to award PhD or habilitation degrees. We also do not provide doctoral or post-doctoral scholarships. However, ICFO will facilitate executing the process of obtaining financing for research projects in both Polish and international institutions that finance science. We also aid in contacting adequate educational institutions which carry out doctoral and habilitation awarding procedures.
If you are interested in participating in the ICFO Mentoring Program and you would like to know more, please contact Dr. hab. Mirosław Szatkowski, Prof. WUT: misza@gmx.de.
Participation in the ICFO Mentoring Program is free of charge.
